It reminded me of the time I took Janell and Avery to Simply Fondue or some such restaurant. Janell and I weren't married yet, but we spent a lot of time together... going to eat, painting Christmas ornaments, roller blading, etc. Avery was 4 at the time. Janell and I had already been talking about marriage, and I had already planned how I would ask her. He looked over at me and said, "I wish you were my dad." The rest, as they say, is history. One of my children I see is adopted and just the other day she was telling me about her family celebrating "Gottcha Day" over the weekend. She said that every year they celebrat the usual family birthdays, but this day is one special day the whole family participates in to celebrate the day she was adopted. Her parents have been doing this for years and she is in jr. high now and still enjoys the family celebration. I just thought I would share this with your family.
