Train Ride to Shummerlya

DSC00850 Shummerlya is where Sasha’s orphanage is. The small city is about 2 hours outside of Cheboksary. We boarded the train in Moscow at around 7PM (Moscow time) for another 13+ hour ride accross the frozen Russian countryside. The girls were skeptical at first but it didn’t take long for them to settle in and embrace this as the real adventure that it was soon to become.
